(Sound advice from the gentleman from Massachusetts. - promoted by David)
Just wanted to drop in with an "all hands on deck" request for help. I stopped by the Tsongas for Congress Campaign Headquarters this morning to do some phone-banking and drop off some Dunkin' Donuts to the gang there. They're firing on all cylinders for the final 24 hours of the race. I don't have to tell all of you here at BMG why Niki needs to win this race, so let me cut to the chase. I'm confident that tomorrow night Massachusetts will have a new Congresswoman. Here comes the "but" ...
I think Niki is going to win, but I'm not prepared to sit back and just "hope" that it happens. We have 24 hours to make sure that it happens. Like a lot of you, staffers from my office have been volunteering on their own time with the Tsongas campaign, and tomorrow they're organizing an Election Day phonebank in Boston. I've heard from a lot of activists and Tsongas supporters that want to help out but because of professional obligations can't make it up to the 5th. Well, this is the perfect opportunity to lend a hand in the 11th hour.
My staffers' phonebank will be at the Massachusetts Teachers Association at 20 Ashburton Place. We'll be making calls from 10 AM until 7:30 PM, and we'll make sure that the call center is stocked with coffee, doughnuts, pizza, soda and snacks. And, I promise, the calls will end before the Sox game starts.
