So now we know Chimpy was lying through his teeth (Again)
Edited on Tue Oct-16-07 10:35 AM by kpete
From White House press release on January 1, 2006:
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2006/01/20060101.html
(looks like page has been scrubbed)

Q Mr. President, with this program, though, what can you say to those members of the public that are worried about violations of their privacy?

THE PRESIDENT: Ed, I can say that if somebody from al Qaeda is calling you, we’d like to know why. In the meantime, this program is conscious of people’s civil liberties, as am I. This is a limited program designed to prevent attacks on the United States of America. And I repeat, limited. And it’s limited to calls from outside the United States to calls within the United States. But they are of known — numbers of known al Qaeda members or affiliates. I think most Americans understand the need to find out what the enemy is thinking. And that’s what we’re doing.

So now we know Chimpy was lying to his teeth.

Verizon Says It Turned Over Data Without Court Orders
Firm's Letter to Lawmakers Details Government Requests

By Ellen Nakashima
Washington Post Staff Writer

Verizon also disclosed that the FBI, using administrative subpoenas, sought information identifying not just a person making a call, but all the people that customer called, as well as the people those people called. Verizon does not keep data on this “two-generation community of interest” for customers, but the request highlights the broad reach of the government’s quest for data.

5. Watching 9-11 Press for Truth, it's amazing how much they lie
I think we were so numb after 9-11 that we missed the chicanery by Bush and Co. but it's covered in this documentary by
the families who lost their loved ones on 9-11. It's amazing to see Bush shuffle through the questions with his non
answers ie "You asked me that question yesterday." (This was said in an irate, how dare you tone.)

7. If Bush's lips are moving, he's lying. And isn't a pResident who lies to the American people
untrustworthy?

That would seem to make him ineligible to hold office. Above all, the President of the United States should be truthful when addressing the American people.

Impeach him already!

11. When They Trotted Out That Scenario
My first thought was "this is not as extensive as advertised." My second thought was "there's got to be more to it than that."

I can excuse Pelosi, Hoyer, and other Dems seeking an exception for incoming calls from terrorists. I cannot in any way understand or excuse what they're thinking in covering for these completely illegal fishing expeditions.

15. It's gotten to the point where if he said the sky is blue, I'd have to see for myself to be sure.
If I was a bookie, I'd give better odds on a lie every time he speaks than I would a truth.
