Jeff Gannon claims to have a daily readership of more than half a million

http://www.standardnewswire.com/news/964981709.html

<snip>

Jeff Gannon, the first exclusively online reporter to cover the White House on a regular basis is considered a New Media pioneer. He notes that his daily readership of more than half a million topped the circulation of most newspapers, despite reporting for a small news outlet. Gannon points out that since his tenure at the White House nearly every news entity has launched an online presence.

5. ARP Storm
Someone has set up a system that is linked to hit over and over after deleting cookies and ID's.

There is no way he has a higher readership than the Chicago Tribune.

9. Please Explain
It says June 2005, but has a new story on the page. Is this from 2005, or is it new?

And if that's the case, what does that number represent? The all time number of hits? I don't get it. Sorry.

10. That June '05 bit
Edited on Tue Oct-16-07 02:24 PM by troubleinwinter
is the oldest of his archives. I posted just a slice of the page... it was taken today. The number is all-time total of hits as of today.

I used to visit his site every several months or so just to laugh at his counter numbers & to see if his site still existed and to wonder how he made a living. The current number is a gigantic recent leap (the book, I suppose?)... lingered at about 43,000 for probably about a year & a half.

11. Well, How Does Half-Million A Day. . .
. . . add up to 800k in 3 years. Shouldn't it be more like 600 million by now?

Know anything about that hit chart that was in the OP? Who is that company?

15. For illustration:
www.americablog.com (America Blog - John Aravosis) shows on their front page counter that they have had 72.5 million visitors since 2004 (see the counter at the bottom of the page).

Now see how this chart reconciles with jimmyjeff's lie (800,000,000?! Hahahaha!):
