Iraq Wraps Its Blackwater Investigation, Sez: Get Out!
By Spencer Ackerman - October 16, 2007, 4:06PM

It's hard to keep track of all the different Blackwater probes. But the government of Nouri al-Maliki says that its own investigation of the September 16 Nisour Square shootings has concluded, and it found that Blackwater committed "unprovoked and random killings," CNN reports. Its stance on Blackwater, which the State Department is apparently no longer challenging, is that the private-security firm has to leave Iraq

Adviser Sami al-Askari told CNN al-Maliki has asked the U.S. State Department to "pull Blackwater out of Iraq."

Al-Askari said the United States is still waiting for the findings of the American investigation, but the Iraqi leader and most Iraqi officials are "completely satisfied" with the findings of their probe and are "insisting" that Blackwater leave the country.

It was Askari who said over the weekend that the State Department is no longer "insisting on Blackwater staying" in Iraq -- not a U.S. official. We'll see if it actually happens. The Iraqi probe's recommendations include the departure of Blackwater within six months.

1. Of course the American findings will show beyond all doubt that
the Blackwater mercenaries were provoked and only took action as a last resort to protect their "clients", regardless of what the facts really are.

4. Blackwater itself is not legally liable. The state dept. is, and the individuals.
this came from Charlie Rose's iterview with Erik Prince at charlierose.com

5. Our government will be more like:
"Go back to bed, America. Your government is in control. Here, watch American Idol and shut up. Here, here's 500 channels of horseshit. Go back to bed, America."

In six monts time, Blacwater and its "friends" wil be in Irak, in a year time Blackwater wil still be in Iraq.. What the Iraqi goverment demand and want, are not what the US Administration want. And so long time the current Administration are in charge, Blackwater wil be in Iraq, and do its dark deeds...

I have never trusted mercanices. and Blackwater is just that. mercanices...

And after military law, every mercancery who are been taken into custody -can- be shoot without criminal sharges against the military who desided to do that.. THat is manybee something mr Price and CO can think about little, when they was sending military soldies to the ground at gunpoint.. Someday a officer in the US army wil get enought, and let the mercanices in Blackwater know it..

6. Oops.... Does anyone know how many troops Blackwater has
to pull out? That can't be good for us either. What will all those troops do? They are going to have so much time on their hands.

11. Blackwater has around 1K Goons in Iraq.
Maybe they better change their name because in Spanish it means sewer water. When they go to S. America to fight in the Drug War, they will be targets there also.

9. *Yawn*
Expect puppet government in Iraq to be removed soon. They're complaining about the Praetorian Guard and not signing the hydrocarbon law and telling Bush to STFU.

*sigh* I guess it's time for the new Saddam to rise up.

12. Well, that ought to lower the war budget by quite a bit.
Good riddance. When they start aiming their guns at our soldiers and ordering them around like the soldiers were under them, then I want them to go too. But I bet they don't go without a bloodbath.

14. If the U.S. is to have any credibility in the fact that the Iraqi govt. is their own
Edited on Tue Oct-16-07 06:33 PM by mtnester
I do not see any way we can stand in their way in this without disputing/validating that Iraq's government is a joke.

Edit to correct spelling error only.

20. Blackwater will just subcontract its employees to other security companies for a "fee". Prince

doesn't care what the leaders of mere countries
think.

22. I think Iraq knows that without all the mercenaries , we will have to...
pull out of this war and are hoping they can get rid of us before we privatize all of their oil. Get out Blackwater, you have Americans and martial law to take care of. You know Blackwater doesn't care, its safer here where they already have a $15 billion contract to fight the so called war on drugs. War on drugs my ass!
