Mr. Gore: You Can Stop Hilary
Edited on Tue Oct-16-07 08:29 PM by Sufficient Voice
We believe in you! We will support you! You already are my president. Don't let CNN pundits decided the fate of our nation. We need someone like you who will stand up! Not someone who will play politics, while our country and our world suffers.

I know your life is good now, and it seems like a big risk. But take the chance! Even if running for president is a huge sacrifice. We all need to sacrifice now. The world needs your sacrifice!

The working poor without health insurance need your sacrifice. The wounded and dying in Iraq need your sacrifice. The millions of soon to be refugees worldwide (because of climate change and expanded war), need your sacrifice.

The time is now. Mr. Gore you are called to serve. Please turn and face the challenge.

1. Stop begging. He is not interested. He doesn't have the stomach
to campaign. The passion is gone.

Wake up and smell the coffee

You can drag a horse to water but you can't make him drink

I believe it would.

But he won't.

There are polls that are never released that tell the story.

I think they're called "insider polls".

But I'm tired and can hardly remember shit anymore.

Edit: I forgot to say: welcome to DU! :hi:

31. Actually, factually
he bested Hillary against Giuliani in the latest CNN poll.

Gore-Giuliani 52-46; Clinton-Giuliani 49-47.

32. So?
The question at hand is stopping Clinton, not Giuliani.

He can't win the nomination, so your point is not only moot, it's dumb.

34. So from a polling perspective
he's the best candidate even though undeclared.

Also, he would enter New Hampshire as the leader:

"Al Gore, however, could enter the race as the leader. When his name is added, Clinton loses more than a quarter of her support, while Gore is backed by 32 percent."

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0607/4692.html

So the reference to polling being bad Gore for Gore in a post above is silly, wouldn't you agree?

39. That's a poll from June
a more recent poll shows Gore getting about 15% compared to Clinton's 43%.

41. That poll is misleading because
it doesn't reflect the support Gore would receive if/when he declares.

Here's a very recent poll indicating Gore would receive a plurality (44%) of primary voters upon declaring.

Running for President is exhausting (he knows that) and could embarrass him if he loses. Also a loss would hurt his international standing in some ways. So the sacrifice would be huge. You have to try to see it from his point of view. Still we all must realize that our lives don't belong to just us. It is our duty to do all we can to help one another in this life. I know Mr Gore knows this. I am just praying my simple message reaches him, to remind him.

I'm pretty damn sure he does not read DU. He's a busy guy.:-) Welcome to DU!

Office of the Honorable Al Gore
2100 West End Avenue

Nashville, Tennessee 37203

I wouldn't open the letter with a negative, though.

I think Mr. Gore is more interested in stopping Global Warming than Senator Clinton. If the two things happen to coincide, well, then they do!

11. Maybe it's time to stop asking him and start doing things ourselves
and getting behind people who can do good for this country who will run. All this groveling at the feet of Al Gore, who has found his niche and has done a lot of good work there, is making us look really lacking -- whereas the power to change lays at our feet already.

13. To some extent I can see that happening
A lot of very progressive people have endorsed her because they were friends with the Clinton family and I think they feel that if they endorse them that maybe they'll have some influence. On the other hand, Clinton-Gore relations were soured near the end and Gore even stepped away from Lieberman in endorsing Dean so anything can happen.

The campaign is just now starting.

We have plenty of time to see who would make the best vice-president to Al Gore.

22. He called YOU to serve. Are YOU facing the challenge?
The time is now. Really, this constnant harping on him as if he is doing nothing is getting so tiresome. If you hate Hillary Clinton so much and want her dumped them DO SOMETHING about it besides begging him. He is already doing much if people would only open their eyes. I swear this rhetoric would do more to turn me off to it than convince me otherwise.
