GALLUP POLL RESULTS: TOO CLOSE TO CALL Between Obama and Gore (Gore up 40% after Award)
First off, I will disclaim that Gallup draws a much more downer conclusion for Gore supporters than my headline reads. But based on THEIR data, my headline is accurate.

Here is the link to their article: http://www.galluppoll.com/content/?ci=29032

Their title: "After Nobel, Support for Gore Remains Limited"

IMHO, that's completely bogus.

Gore increased his position by FORTY PERCENT after winning the NOBEL PEACE PRIZE, up to 14 from 10 percent. The margin of error in their sampling of 500 "Democrats" is +-5 percent.

That means with Hillary now at 44%, Obama at 19%, second place is TOO CLOSE TO CALL (well within the margin of error). In fact, Obama dropped significantly since the last Gallup poll, down over 5 points from 24 to 19, while Gore is up from 10 to 14.

Given that Gore is not officially IN THE RACE, has not campaigned or raised money, IT IS INCREDIBLE THAT HE IS IN SECOND PLACE IN A NATIONAL POLL.

Of course, Gallup completely glosses over these facts.

1. That IS a completely manipulative title
What was the assumption, that he would overtake Hillary? That his support would suddenly be unlimited?

2. You left out a couple of rather important words: Presidential Bid

It wasn't "Support for Gore remains limited", it was "Support for Gore Presidential Bid remains limited."

Support for his candidacy went from 38% in March to 41% now. Not exactly an overwhelming difference.

3. as you point out
the margin of error is +/- 5%.

Perhaps Gore didn't get ANY boost at all!
