Election Day .. Changes
Now that we have a slim majority in the house and senate, shouldn't the dems pass legislation declaring Election Day as a national holiday? Or moving the election day from Tuesday to Saturday? Either one of these changes would benefit the Democratic party.

2. A veto would only prove that the republicans hate working people!
It's a win win for the democratic party!

4. They're not even trying to hide it any more. It's already clear they hate sick children.
It's already clear they hate the troops. It's already clear they hate scientific breakthroughs..

It would only be a "win" for the Democrats if they MADE the repugs actually filibuster, on the Senate floor, day and night with the cameras rolling to PROVE to the American people that the Repugs are that mean in a way they can't deny it.

And they haven't mustered the guts.

7. The dems can't muster enough guts to change the election day
even when it's in their best interests...

5. Good idea
Current "time off to vote" laws are at state level, resulting in a typical mish-mash.

6. It is something that should be brought up - along with an end to gerrymandering
and complete public financing of elections.

Pipe dream unfortunately.
