Poll question: Do you expect Partisan Rancor in our national discourse to increase?
Edited on Wed Oct-17-07 02:10 PM by bryant69
Over the next 10 years lets say.

I ask because it seems like we are already close to and in some cases may have passed the place where we can have a rational discussion between parties - the framework in which such a rational conversation could happen have been eroded away, and in some cases, eliminated. Do you expect this trend to continue?

Oh, and for the record, this is because Conservatives/Republicans like Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, et al, have carefully blurred the lines.

Bryant

Poll #1 (I'm going to make effort to see how often I post polls).

3. Willing to shake hands across the aisle.
For my part I make a renewed effort to understand those with whom I disagree (both here at DU, and with those who prefer less progressive material).

4. I hope so, at least to the point that the Dems, if they get large enough
majorities, crush the pukes until there is no rethug party.

It will take drastic action, using all the weapons that Georgie and his cronies have used for seven years, to try and reverse the disastrous actions of the last few decades.

Disarming and playing nice will not be effective in righting the ship of state and will only encourage the enemy to fight instead of slinking off into oblivion.

I'm not ready to make nice!
