The difference between taking Impeachment off the table, and TELLING THE WORLD it's off the table
Edited on Wed Oct-17-07 05:39 PM by rudy23
In the first scenario, you still get to get to work in Congress without being dragged down by all those "arduous" impeachment hearings. Your time is still freed up to bring our troops home safely. You still get to look like the bigger party for not impeaching just to get revenge.

In the second scenario, you get all that, PLUS you tell he president that for the last two years of his term, he gets to turn America into whatever the hell he wants to turn us into.

In other words, it's just about the stupidest thing you could possibly do, as the branch of government that's in charge of oversight.

It's the difference between running for it on 4th down, and telling the other team "HEY, WE'RE NOT GOING TO PASS ON 4TH DOWN".

2. The difference between taking impeachment off the table, and DOING YOUR DUTY
It's the difference between self-serving political calculation and serving the people you represent while upholding the Constitiution.

3. That's "talk about" bringing troops home safely
Not a single troop is coming home a day sooner without impeachment.

Sorry, but all the "funding" talk is just another distraction. With impeachment "off the table," they're free to fund "illegally."

It's time for everyone to stop being "Anti-War" and start being "Pro-Impeachment."

No, you can't ride two horses with the same behind.
