I have met many politicians, done lobbying on the Hill, written, protested, all sorts of things. I feel like a lot of us in the activist sphere work very hard and are very committed. I feel that the politicians don't see much urgency in things and aren't willing to risk as much as we are to effect change.

For example, of the four senators running for President, why did none of them even filibuster the Military Commissions Act? Why not do EVERYTHING POSSIBLE to stop something that will lead to some innocent person somewhere being killed? Isn't that a form of negligent homicide?

I really hope that we as a people can learn to make our politicians accountable and not so comfortable and outright lazy.
