Plame also revisits the debate over whether she suggested her husband for the Niger trip. Government officials have testified she did. In her book, she says a CIA colleague suggested it and a supervisor asked Wilson to come in to discuss it.

She harshly criticizes a Senate intelligence panel that investigated the leak. Testifying before a committee of young staffers, she said, "felt like a setup." She criticized the "Republican senators' complete disregard for the truth" and said they twisted the testimony.

Plame said the CIA refused to let her colleague clarify that it was he who first suggested Wilson for the trip.

For one thing, I had never seen so much bullshit and politics until I took a "real" job, working with "professionals" (working for school district).

Big G has to be at least 100 fold the b.s.

2. It seems that Joseph Wilson's relationship with he Agency
cannot yet be discussed openly. I think that's causing confusion. I could be wrong, but it seems clear to me that Valerie isn't the only op in the family.

4. I've thought for a long time that Joe wilson was CIA

Probably more covert than Valerie so they used her to get to him. I think Joe was a real target, but he was so convert that they couldn't out him.

6. Yes, embassies are full of CIA
Wilson just has that aura about him. I had an uncle who was CIA back in the day, but I didn't find out until after his death. We knew he traveled overseas, but nobody talked about what he did.

Plame/Wilson story had legs because Bush/Cheney tangled with two very good agents. I feel funny even speculating about such things on a public board because CIA agents are supposed to be a secret. I find it outrageous that our government had a hand in this outting.
