CNN Situation Room was hilarious yesterday
It can be very entertaining. Last night it was "breaking news Sadr has gone to Iran!!!" Susan Malveaux saying it was a very important development!!!

Then Blitzer gets Michael Ware, their Aussie guy in Baghdad, on and he says, eh, who knows why he went this time, he goes on a lot of trips and has gone to Iran before, no big deal--and besides he's been there for 2-3 weeks already. But at CNN it's "breaking news!!" Blitzer comes back with, "well we'll be watching this closely for further developments!"

I got a laugh out of that.

2. Whatever gets faxed over from Cheney's office is breaking news to
Fluff Witless. I still can't get over the fact that they can call it "The Situation Room" with a straight face. How old is their typical viewer, 12?

7. thanks for this
I like how Michael Ware deflates all the hype and shows just how silly it is:

"We have sources close to his party who this evening were saying that they had heard this rumor a couple of days ago. They spoke to Muqtada's people. They were told also that he was here in Iraq, in Najaf. Now you would expect them to tell you this if he's fled, but you would also expect them to tell you this if he's here.

Either way, at the end of the day, what does it really mean? Is he running in flight for fear of the Baghdad security plan? I think that's most unlikely. I don't think Muqtada himself, his personal safety or freedom is really threatened politically or militarily by the Baghdad security plan. Indeed, if he does go to Iraq, does it weaken his power base?

snip

WARE: He's done that several times in the past, as I understand. Indeed, he was preparing for a visit to Damascus this week or next week. He's traveled the region just at the end of last year. On the stump, rallying support and reassuring Arab Sunni leaders. I mean this is a man who from time to time travels.

He coordinates with other leaders, and he coordinates with his various sponsors, including those who are in Iran. So is he here, is he not? Has he fled, has he gone of his own volition for what purpose? Totally up in the air. Let's go back and ask the White House and these unnamed sources, come clean, give us the facts."

9. LOL! I call him Bluster Boy
It was hilarious when Ware was on. His attitude was "Get a clue!" Wolfie seemed sooo disappointed and bit taken aback. He was having a journilistic orgasm and Ware gave him a cold shower!

Edited on Wed Feb-14-07 01:55 PM by utopiansecretagent
last nite with an excerpt from CNN where Lou Dobbs announces he will not be covering ANS story on his segment, then Lou turns it over to Wolf who promptly goes into the ANS bullshit.

Hilarious.
