For those disappointed that Gore hasn't jumped in
just remember that people like Martin Luther King and Gandhi accomplished as much or more than most Presidents and neither held a political office.

I'm not comparing Gore to those people, but I'm just offering that it may be true that he can actually accomplish more outside of politics. If he continues on his present path even outside of politics, you just might see him affecting more change than whoever does get elected.

1. I think you have a good point here. And, he may also live longer
since he will be happier.

He will do what he will do.

2. well those are bad examples of longevity
Both MLK and Gandhi had their lives cut short. in or out of politics, Gore will need good security everywhere he goes.

6. heh... I wasn't making that connection.
I was thinking of him choosing his own happiness.

Actually, it's conceivable that if he were President now, and followed his own true course, that *could* shorten his life in somewhat the same way (I think they have gotten sophisticated beyond assassination by now...)

In any event, best wishes to him!

He's not the same man he was in 2000, and he will do a fine job wherever he is.

3. It Goes WAY Beyond That Though
Al Gore is a GREAT Man, and would make a GREAT President.

But aside from that, if he doesn't run, we end up with ANOTHER Clinton.

That's becoming more of the bottom line, than Al not running. Sure, he's my first choice, but I feel like if he's not there, my 2nd choice is of no consequence, since I'm being HANDED ANOTHER CLINTON, whether I like it or not.

But that's the way things are being controlled nowadays.

Gore, Feingold, Boxer, Dean...all names I'd prefer over Hillary, and ALL ABSENT.

4. It is just that this nation needs healing from the inside out. I don't
think anyone can do this BUT Gore. I think the best way to save the world is to lead from within this nation. With Gore as our leader I think this might be possible.

7. Assassinated?
Uh...Those two ended up killed for their beliefs. Maybe we should suggest to Al Gore that no ex-president has ever been assassinated.

9. good point--Gore's tragedy is that he was constrained by his role as a sworn officer of Congress
Edited on Thu Oct-18-07 11:53 AM by librechik
he had to certify his own de-election after winning the popular vote. I'll bet the Bushies got a good laugh at that. Kinda like the Romans laughing at Jesus as they dragged him through the streets. Just a little bit.

12. Unless Gore wants to live abroad
his best choice if to be drafted by us. Bush or his successor will have Gore thrown into Gitmo otherwise.
