Well, turns out that's not the only one she was snubbing. They were divorced today, no love in France today!

2. This has been an open secret for a long time
She's been fed up with him and the frenetic political lifestyle for a while. Her idea of a good time is shopping and dining in New York.

BTW there's no love in France today because there's no goddamn transportation due to a big strike.

4. I'm sure she is going to regret ...
... having passed up a hot dog or hamburger (there's a choice, heh, heh, heh) with the Kennebunkport yahoos for the rest of her days.

6. She negotiated the release of hostages from Libya.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7050770.stm

I daresay she has more interesting things to do than sit around and discuss pearls with Barbara Bush and listen to Poppy break into sobs every time he thinks of *.

Cecilia Sarkozy ain't no lightweight:
She did not vote in the second round of the presidential election and did not accompany him on a recent trip to Bulgaria - despite the fact that in July she had unexpectedly negotiated the release of Bulgarian medics imprisoned in Libya.

This summer she failed to accompany her husband to a picnic lunch hosted by US President George W Bush and last weekend she was again absent from her husband's side at France's Rugby World Cup match against England.

Now I would have said, she "successfully avoided accompanying" her husband to the Kennebunkport lunch with Poppy and Ba and *, but nobody asked me to write the article.
