I mean who needs things like winning primaries and getting on state ballots and winning the nomination at the convention.

:sarcasm:

20. There are going to be 4367 delegates at the convention
from the states and territories.

The winner only has to get a majority.

No one has to be in the January primaries to win the nomination and everyone has already chosen to ignore Michigan and Florida.

It's been done before - JFK didn't jump in until January and Eisenhower missed several states before he jumped into the race on March 12, 1952.

4. at this point it really is pathological. DU'ers will STILL be saying he's running even after the
Democratic Primaries are over with a winner.

We'll see posts about how the delegates will be deadlocked and Gore will have to step in.

6. That's probably true.
I would love nothing better than a Gore candidacy, but by now I've pretty much accepted that it won't happen. :(

7. Maybe he'll announce on Halloween
wearing a Superman costume?

Because that's how some people around here seem to regard him.

I like him a lot, but I don't think he's our only hope. I think we have some great candidates who are actually running.

19. Edwards would be an excellent Liberal candidate, but many Democrats want
Hillary, who is DLC , like Bill.

21. I don't think the average Dem gives a hoot about DLC, DNC, etc.
Only on DU-type sites do people throw acronyms like that around, and we're not average Dems.

It will be interesting to see how Edwards does in Iowa.

My point was that we want Gore to run because he is so much better than any of the announced candidates.
