There is a fucking asshole Repuke on C-Span, railing against S-CHIP...
I think he's said "Socialized Medicine" about 50 times by now. His name is Steve King, and he says that EVERYONE in America has access to health care, what a fucking delusional asshole.

20. I thought the part after that was even funnier...
Don't know the silver haired guy who was left, but he went to the podium and requested they adjourn for the day, the Speaker then asked if anyone would second the motion, and the same guy said "aye" and they both left the chamber really quick. I didn't know you could second your own motion on the House floor!

Question is, can we hang on until 1/09 to return to sanity?

11. He was completely removed from reality...
It was fucking amazing, the leaps of illogic that he attempted to justify not supporting the S-CHIP bill jumped all over the place. From people dying in line in Canada, to saying that not one person in this country is denied health care. Never seen a single person spew so much bullshit in so short a time, doesn't even compare to Bush the lesser.

7. We -DO- all have access to healthcare.
In the same sense that we all have "have access to"
Lamborghinis, and solid-gold Rolexes.

All of us are ALLOWED to buy one of those whenever we want,
just like health care!

16. He even went further than that, to new depths of idiocy, saying no one in this country is denied...
medical care, which is outright false. He's either fucking delusional or a pathological liar.

9. Everyone, eh? Maybe he means in his privileged family... or his elite circle..
Or maybe he means the emergency room, which is the only option for millions without insurance. Which wastes valuable emergency resources, and taxpayers end up paying for anyway. Preventative care is far cheaper.

These people really make me SICK.

right side of the state, so I guess he can get away with being a dickhead.

12. The "party line" is apparently that people can use emergency rooms
if they really need care. iirc even Bush said that once.

I won't dignify that particular idiocy with further commentary.

21. And then get sent home to die.

Without insurance they are likely to give you enough emergency care to keep you alive today. A week from now, well... that's a whole other issue.

would get health care, but whether they would get health insurance. He says they'll always get health care. What planet is this guy on? 18,000 people die each year because they can't get health CARE because they can't afford health insurance.
