Classic film actress and beauty Deborah Kerr dead at 86
Great actress with such films as BLACK NARCISSUS, FROM HERE TO ETERNITY (memorable love scene in the surf with Burt Lancaster), HEAVEN KNOWS, MR. ALLISON, SEPERATE TABLES, AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER, THE SUNDOWNERS, THE INNOCENTS (one of the best ghost stories ever), NIGHT OF THE IGUANA. And of course THE KING AND I.

Nominated six times for an Oscar--never winning a competitive award, but received a career Oscar in '94. She was 86

RIP, Miss Kerr.

1. "The Innocents" what a great movie
My husband watches TCM constantly and we never miss "The Innocents".

What an actress, what a loss.

May she rest in peace.

5. Never saw it??? Who else is in "the Innocents" .... ????
Deborah Kerr was fantastic --- especially in "From Here to Eternity" ---
but wonderful in everything she did.

18. As already noted it is based on "Turn of the Screw"
imdb link: http://imdb.com/title/tt0055018/

and as noted, Michael Redgrave is in it. I saw that the girl Flora was portrayed by Pamela Franklin whom I remember from the 60's and 70's. If you ever get a chance to, watch it. You will not be disappointed.
