Statement of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton on House Vote on Children's Health Insurance

Statement of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton on House Vote on Children's Health Insurance

Washington, DC – “It is deeply disappointing that a small minority of Republicans in Congress have put loyalty to this president ahead of healthcare for millions of children. But we will not give up until a bill becomes law. I will keep fighting to enact a bipartisan bill that provides affordable coverage to America’s children.”

1. it is true. Why is it that the minority has so much power in the Senate?

2. When the constitution and the laws governing this land were set up
our Founding Fathers did not want the government to become tyrantical...(fooled were they). So they put these checks and balances in place.

That's why you have 60 votes to bring a bill to the floor of the senate. Thats why you have to have 2/3 of the members of the house and senate to over ride a presidential veto.

I suppose if they knew the abuse that bush and his henchmen in congress would make of this they would never have done it.

These vote requirements were put there to give the minority a voice.
