Recognizing you have a problem is the first step in solving that problem.

We DO have a problem here. We refuse to see the truth, refuse to show the images of war dead and sick children and homeless and maimed vets.

We hide our sins, and denying our American children healthcare is among the greatest of our sins.

Amusement? Yes, the p-resident is amused by death. We have seen his smirk, his arrogance, his making jokes about the missing WMDs that he HAD to find, sending our soldiers in to die for his fake scavenger hunt.

He has exhibited his amusement by death in a thousand ways. He is certainly proud to be someone who is "secure from death" and this is why he laughs at others' suffering. This is why he could strum a guitar while people in his own nation drowned.

And what is amassing huge amounts of money if not amusement? One cannot take it with one to the grave, so why - when you have all you could ever need or want - would you kill people or deny little kids health care except personal AMUSEMENT at collecting more and more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and power?

Hold your children a little closer tonight, because their president and Congress just stood up and said "you are worthless" to EACH AND EVERY CHILD.

And Stark stood up and told the truth.

It's about time somebody did.

they continue to get steamrolled in the majority. Makes me want to stay home and not vote next year. SCHIP, illegal wiretaps, funding for Iraq, immunity for phone companies breaking the law.

7. The media is at the point where no one, with the

exception of KO on tv and a few progressive radio talk show hosts, will discuss what Bush has done to earn the enmity of Pete Stark.

You'll never see in the corporate media the picture of him yukking it up while New Orleans was devastated. You'll never see the infamous "searching for WMDs" under his desk video. You'll never see a panel discussion of the "we had a good laugh" 9/11 quote.

Imagine how outraged the American people would be if the media pulled back the curtain and they saw the real Bush.

No, instead we are treated to a parade of talking head commentators and politicians suggesting that the problem lies with Stark, and that the criticism of the chimp is "over the line."

It is goddamn infuriating.

19. People are smarter than the media

It seems like so many are fooled but most of us are aware things are not right. Most Americans want the war to end, even without the pictures.

They know.

Some people play dumb when it comes to politics, but if you dig deeper you might find they care more than they let on.

Some people really don't give a damn, but most do care about their children's future even if you or I might say they are completely screwing it up running things their way.

But people all over this country are fed up and have given up on the media just like you and I have.

Anyhoo, I stay away from the media. They are sad ghosts of what the press could be.

I am so busy just trying to help out my "community" I do not miss the talking heads. i only know about their comments from DU 99% of the time.

So don't worry about Stark's comments. 25% of us are pacing around in their cages, trying to build a case against Stark. The other 75% are saying " It's about time" even if only under their breath.
