Instead of focusing on Pete Stark, here are some over-the-top floor theatrics by Repubs:
Rep. King’s new name for SCHIP. Today on the House floor, Rep. Steve King (R-IA) introduced a new name for the acronym SCHIP — “Socialized Clinton-style Hillarycare for Illegals and their Parents”:

For the record, SCHIP stands for the “State Children’s Health Insurance Program” and does not cover undocumented immigrants. Not surprisingly, King voted today to sustain Bush’s SCHIP veto.

<...>

UPDATE: Earlier this week, Rep. Tom Feeney (R-FL) told USA Today that he refers to SCHIP as “Socialized, Cuba-style Health care for Illegals and their Parents.”

6. I would have loved to have noted the date years ago when I watched a Repuke
say about how Clinton was pointing out about how his plan would cost less than the Repuke plan ...

The guy had a chart which did show that ... Clinton's would go down initially, but (according to the Repukes, and we know how truthful they are) then would rise at (but not TO) the same rate as the Repuke plan.

But you always hear Repukes saying about how something costs less than something else ... the problem this guy had is that the Repuke plan still, even with the rise, would cost more than Clinton's ...

3. This is hatefully outrageous. These people are espousing a Nazi mentality against minorities and
the less fortunate. It's evil - I'm speechless.

5. what? they lie to get support for their policies?
say it ain't so!

I am so sick of this use of disinformation to skew the debate. We need to encourage people - and here I mean non DUers - to be skeptical of the information they get. Not to discount it, the way Rush encouraged people to abandon the "liberal media" - but to do some basic research when they hear something before they repeat it.

7. So senators and candidates for president
IF THEY ARE DEMOCRATS can be verbally called names and slurring on the floor of the senate and that's OK. But damn just let someone say something about the Turd in Chief and the whole republican party shits in their pants.
