any guesses?

Howard Dean? Al Gore? John Conyers? Dennis Kucinich? Barbara Lee?

6. it's hard to defend him
I don't blame him for feeling passionately, but his comments were a mistake, imo, and I think he will realize that and apologize.

14. I would defend Stark.
Besides the fact that free speech is supposedly guaranteed in the Constitution,
I truly believe DUH-bya is amused in his sick little wannabe presidential power-drunk way about the whole friggin thing.

17. The right wing hate and disinformation machine did its job once again
Massive amounts of fake outrage and anything a dem might say must be followed by an apolgy because we are so outraged. Its just so horrible what Mr Stark said about the great leader. Fuck Them. And fuck their insistance upon apologies. Any dem who fires up the fake outrage from the right has not made a mistake.

9. YES
But then again I do apreciate it when people show a spine and don't back down

What muricans hate is this wishy washy.

Pubilicans are despised, but at least they don't back down...

On the other hand, many folks round these parts hate a loud democrat.

It is actually telling

4. I don't believe Mr Stark needs to be defended
He has nothing to apologize for. Let the trash stew in their hate and ignorance. I'd ignore the trash, their supporters will soon put them out on the corner to be picked up.

13. And that's a damn shame.
Isn't it COOL when a congressman will stand up and have the nuts to say George Bush gets a kick out of killing folks? Because you know, I kind of think that he does. I remember reading some piece about how he was sort of obsessive about the torture technniques our guys were using on detainees. I also read about how he told the Spanish PM, president, ambassador or somesuch that we'd be in Iraq no later than March, way before his "deadline" with Saddam had passed. Then there was the whole deal with him branding and hazing pledges and his whole "kicking ass" comment to the Australians (or the Austrians in Australia, to hear him tell it).

At some point you have to either close your ears or come to the conclusion that he just gets a kick out of inflicting harm and death on people.

I'm glad Stark had the nuts to say it, even if the rest of the party is gonna ditch him over it.

When did we, as a society, become so obsessed with "demanding an apology" anyway? It's sad. Like that blimpy dude in the popeye movie who kept wandering around muttering "you owe me an apology... you owe me an apology..."

How about this apology: "Piss off"

15. I don't think they will--nor should they. They should just say that Stark
is responsible for his own comments, and leave it at that. His remarks aren't defensible in terms of truth--they were an emotional outburst. But no one should insist on an apology either.

but who cares?

The republicans never apologize for their outrageous insults. Why should we apologize over an angry observation?
