Poll question: "The recent Stock Market activity has me...."
Edited on Fri Oct-19-07 06:22 PM by A HERETIC I AM
On edit to say that this is just a silly poll, and not a commentary on the economy as a whole nor is it aimed at a specific exchange or index. I'm just curious how many will vote on a particular, albeit curiously worded, choice, that's all

1. The DJIA or the S&P 500? IMHO, the DJIA is still overvalued, but the S&P is more...
closely matching market fundamentals. The DJIA is skewed towards wealthy investors, so its performance has matched less and less closely with the performance of the economy at large, but the S&P reflects a broader portrait of investors and thus more closely reflects the economy.

2. The stock market is not the economy.
But given the mantra "pulling one's self up by one's bootstraps", giving these companies a free ride for their blatant and overextended greed should not be up to the government to fix.

If stocks are dropping over fears of inflation and a weaker dollar, cutting federal interest rates again sure as hell won't solve anything.

Some of the people who took the loans have their responsibility too.

But those loan companies have a part to play as well.
