Besides, I think taking up arms is a bad idea. My thought is to make California more and more independent. Small steps - devise our own health care, lobby for California Rights and then eventually call back our National Guard. The Governor has a right to do that - he's just not exercising it. We need to elect a Governor who will call back all National Guard troops from abroad.

It would be a seamless transition. We already share a border, half the change in our pockets is Canadian anyway, and we've already got the accent (sort of).
It would mean that people from Windsor (Ontario) would no longer need to go through border checks to shop in the Detroit area, and the 19-year-olds from the Detroit area would no longer need to go through border checks to get smashed at the bars in Windsor.
Plus, Canada would gain total contol of Lake Huron and almost all of Lake Superior, plus half of Lake Michigan.
Politically, socially, geographically - it's a perfect fit.

The Powers That Be? Well that jury is still out? Don't personally have time to memorize statistics but off-hand 75 to 80% of our Populace see something very WRONG with our governance ...... and have lost faith in things changing for the better. And for other reasons we seem to be in a state of apathy ..... with the remaining 20% or so in denial. So what do we do, we the non apathetic type? We the few which speak for the majority, that care to get involved and stand for The U.S. Constitution.
Since 2000 I've watched (gleefully) The Bush administration approval ratings on the Iraq war, Economy, World Standing .... etc... etc... go down down down ..... and at the same time our Civil Rights to stand up against these things happening, eroded like a stone wall being erected between 'us' and them........

I always stayed calm believing that once the American People woke up, and these 'polls' showed we were alert enough things would change. That doesn't seem to be happening. Like I said ..... the attempted 'clamp down' on our civil rights, silencing of the majority gets worse and worse as the regime poll numbers go down. Good news/ Bad news. What gives? Insight? Peace.

The contractor who "worked" on my house did a very shitty job on the roof, ruined the wiring, left huge holes in the walls and ceilings, and then fled back to East Texas with the rest of my insurance money.

Essentially I am fucked: no job, leaky roof, electrical wiring that shorts out, tons of moldy dust in dirt that cannot be cleaned unless all the drywall is repaired... none of which can be repaired because I was robbed of my insurance money, when I was down and out, by a criminal contractor who has completely disappeared.

I have nearly lost faith in my fellow American.
