I tried to find a picture of myself participating in this year's Komen Race For the Cure in Dallas in honor of Mrs. OPERATIONMINDCRIME, and instead I found this little video placing me squarely in the middle of things.

8. Now That You Just Made Me Cry And All, I Wanted To Give My Heartfelt Thanks.

There are so many who have used her story to motivate themselves to take part in this year's races. I'm so touched by all who have and so thankful for all of the donations that have gone to help this cause. I'm still (as are her family members) in shock as to how many people across the country got wind of our story and started teams or individual efforts to take part in these races. Each instance I hear truly touches my heart. She did not die unloved, unknown, or in vain.

But still, I sit here stunned. Still, I sit here convinced in delusion that this isn't real, though I know it is. Still, I long for her with every thought and have to feel the hurt grow exponentially with each passing day, while having to put on the face of strength and ability for my two young sons.

But still, with all the pain and devastation growing within me, each act of kindness, reaching out, selflessness, caring and good will that is sent towards my situation touches my heart immensely, and truly does help. For that, Derby, I thank you. Peace be with you friend.
