G.O.P. National Convention Could Wind Up Without a Winner First Roll Call & Then Draft Jeb Bush.
Edited on Sun Oct-21-07 10:36 PM by David Zephyr
Don't laugh.

Jeb Bush is a beloved darling with the religious right who just this weekend gave a giant shrug of indifference to the entire current crop of Republican candidates.

Don't laugh.

The way the numbers continue to play out between the GOP hopefuls, there may not be a candidate with 51% of the delegates at their convention next year. After the second and third roll call, pandemonium could break out and a cry for another candidate that the nuts will like. Newt or Jeb?

Don't laugh.

Jeb has all the connections he could ever need to roll it through at the convention. Jeb has all the money he would need. Jeb would have the entire military/industrial complex behind him if he winked and indicated he could be drafted.

Don't laugh.

The Bush family has had a stranglehold on the U.S. since the late 1940's when two Roosevelt haters, Prescott Bush and Allen Dulles, created their first national puppet politician from raw clay: Richard M. Nixon and ran his campaign in Southern California for U.S. Congress and then got Dwight Eisenhower to pick the nobody to be his VP. Nixon repaid the Bush family in many ways over the years including making George H.W. Bush the head of the C.I.A. which Dulles has founded. Prescott Bush was one of the hush fund sources for Nixon during Watergate. Of course, George H.W. Bush was chosen to be VP for eight years and then went on to be President for four years. His son, Dubya would have never been the President if it were not for Jeb Bush stacking the cards against Al Gore in Florida...all in advance of the election.

Don't laugh.

Many here worry that George W. Bush will not leave office because of the crimes that he has committed and to keep them hidden and to perpetuate his power. He is able to leave office and have the last laugh if Jeb was chosen at the convention. Jeb's two sons are in the news now working for Thompson and Rudy. Was this an intentional and orchestrated news story by Jeb?

Don't laugh.

Sadly, Jeb is still very popular according to every poll in Florida and Republicans would like to know that they could have those electoral votes.

And finally, if Jeb isn't on the top of the GOP ticket, I truly believe he will be in the VP slot.

I have lived too long and watched this family's fingers all over our nation's history doing their worse.

It's very hard for me to believe that the Bush Cabal would just walk away from the reigns of national power now. Very hard.

The Bush Family just giving it all up? I can't get my mind around that.

You can tell me I'm crazy. You will not hurt my feelings. In fact, I hope you will tell me I'm crazy.

2. Nope. Jebby knows he's not in the running. He's the smarter one--he
sees the writing on the wall.

4. "...Bush Cabal would just walk away from the reigns..."
That should be "reins" as in reins connected to a bit in a horse's mouth. Reign with a g is what Queen Elizabeth does in Great Britain.

they will try to package him as a moderate in 2012 and see if the suckers will bite like they did on W.

9. Is this like the "stealth plan" to make Gore the Democratic candidate?
If so, I expect the Jeb plan to work and the Gore plan to fail. Because Republicans have will and force and sneakiness. Democrats couldn't be sneaky if they all wore thick woolen socks; their lack of spine means their heads keep slapping against the ground and they can't keep quiet.

10. The LAST thing any voter in this country wants ...
... is another BUSH at the helm - the Republicans most of all.

Sorry, but you don't avoid any mention of, reference to, or endorsement from a BUSH, and then turn around and say, "Hey, guess who we've got on board to take us to victory? Another BUSH -- only this time, it's the idiot's brother!"

Ain't buyin'.

11. Doesn't the religious right realize that they're NOT a majority?
And that their tactics made THIRTY per cent of them peel off vote Dem last November?

And nothing would make me happier than Jeb as VP. Think of all the fun we could have portraying him as the next Dick Cheney!

12. Honestly, only two things get Hillary elected as President
#1: The Religious Right runs a third party candidate who picks up at least 5% of the vote.

#2: Someone named Bush runs again.

That's it.

20. The Bush name is MUD.
Even if he got in as the nominee, I wouldn't fear him in any general election unless there was MASSIVE fraud.

Which is always a concern when there's a Bush on the ballot.

26. Days Of The "Smoked Filled Room" Are Long Gone
It'll take a google search just to find the last time a nomination went to a second ballot, yet into a dead-lock that could result in the "dark horse" emerging from the "smoke filled room". The primary system and today's corporate media has all but eliminated that...a major reason conventions are nothing more than week-long political commercials.

Jebbie knows his time, if any, isn't now. He's the smart one whose seen how bad his brother has fucked up and sure doesn't want to be the one either stuck with the blame or responsible for cleaning some of it up. I honestly think the guy doesn't want the job as the real money is influence peddling and this guy is extremely well positioned. If there's a future job in his career it's as CEO of the Carlisle Group.
