I got this from my "left wing religious group" today -

Have a Heart for God's Planet

Dear Joe:

Global warming is perhaps THE moral issue of our time since it impacts all of God’s creation and future generations. Scientists now agree that global warming is caused by human activity and it is imperative for us to act now to avoid catastrophic global warming events.

Right now, our Congressional members are paying attention to global warming and debating proposals to cut our nation’s contribution to global warming. This is a great time for us, as people of faith, to speak for vulnerable communities who will be most impacted by climate change and for God’s precious species, such as polar bears that are losing their arctic habitat as the polar ice caps continue to melt away. In the Bible, we learn that “God so loved the world” and repeatedly referred to God’s Creation as “good.” If God loves the world, shouldn’t we?

Send a valentine asking your Congressperson to love and protect God’s creation!

With warm and grateful hearts for all you do on behalf of our planet,

Vince Isner, FaithfulAmerica.org

1. This is fabulous.
It would be great if the group would send out weekly "to do's" telling people how they can help to save the planet by incorporating simple changes in their lives (using the long lasting light bulbs, buying organic when possible, etc.). It's these changes given in "An Inconvenient Truth" that empowers people. Every person can make a difference.
