Halliburton third-quarter net income rises 19%

HOUSTON (AP) - Halliburton said today its earnings rose 19% in the third quarter, as the company continues to expand its business in the Eastern Hemisphere.

The Houston-based oilfield services company reported net income of $727 million, or 79 cents a share, in the July-September period. That's compared to income of $611 million, or 58 cents a share, in the year-ago period.

The most-recent results included a favorable income tax impact valued at $133 million, or 15 cents a share.

Third-quarter revenue rose 16% to $3.93 billion.

According to Thomson Financial, the results matched analysts' average earnings estimate of 64 cents on revenue of $3.87 billion --- Excluding the income tax gain, .

dirty is the word for these companys , making a profit off the back of the blood of our women and men in country fighting for the corperations and share holders , make me sick to hear some of these so called americans and the greed and blood just runnning from there mouths as they collect there ill gotten earnings

3. Doing a lot better since they got rid of their Iraq ties, aren't they?

They spun off KBR into its own company starting late last year, so they no longer have any contracts with the military in Iraq. Looks like move is working out well for them.
