New company expressly prohibits favoring employees holiday scheduling based on anything other than position within the company.

Last company had the unwritten rule of "you have to sacrifice for their children."

This year she has the 24th, 26th and 27th off.

Now we have to decide, Colorado or the Caribbean.

1. I'd go to Colorado
You can't ski in the Caribbean ;)

My SO and I are going for our honeymoon in December to Austria and Switzerland....very nice stuff indeed :)

2. Last company
I worked for prohibited anyone from scheduling sny time off for any reason during the entire month of December. Depending on how the holidays fell that could prohibit travel around Thanksgiving and New Year's as well as Christmas. There is nothing about those bastards that I miss. Nothing at all.

I'd choose Colorado. I love the mountains. Enjoy.

5. No, just saying we deserve time off around holidays as much as those
with children do.

6. Big Island of Hawaii
Then you can go skiing, enjoy the mountains and sun on some of the finest beaches in the world. And it's a progressive state, unlike Colorado.

I left hospital Nursing for School Nursing. Holiday schedualing was the pits. I always got shafted (thus daughter got shafted). Best thing I ever did.

And the 'Bonus Pay' for giving up your holidays would barely cover for a pack of chewing gum.:eyes:
