those that stood up will be counted.

5. Sending thanks to Dodd and Biden. I hope many others join them.
As for Barack and Hillary: shame, shame, shame.

This is why we need change in America today, and apparently neither of them are up to the task.

6. Any telecom money
in Senators Clinton or Obama's respective war chests?

Cherchez l'argent.

My senator, Jay Rockefeller, took $25K from Verizon alone and lookee where he stood on the issue of telecom immunity. He was willing to pop it out of the Intel Committee like a big ol' zit.

7. So much for our two "front runners" in a primary season yet to have the first vote cast.
They should on board or prepare to be left behind.

And how about fewer posts from groupies on how much money they have raised?

I'd rather hear about courageous stands taken upon which we can unite the party on traditional Democratic values.

:argh:

A special thanks to Senators Dodd and Biden.

Things are moving fast.

Obama came out against the retroactive immunity last Thursday. This source still wasn't happy with Obama because Dodd had come out first.

This source lumps Dodd, Biden and Obama together:

10. Read your link
Didn't see where it said Obama would join in the "Hold" action. Just that he "opposed" the telecom immunity.

Now we need to see if he'll follow that opinion with action.

11. How old is the "Hold" action?
Give him a chance to read the proposal before jumping on him.

13. last thursday. supported that day by Feingold and Wyden. nothing to read.
that point is to STOP THIS BILL from coming to a vote. It would give retroactive immunity to the telecoms adn quash 40 lawsuits now coming to trial about illegal spying. It is important, and definitely a NO.

15. Bravo to Dodd and Biden - disappointed in the "other" two
Hillary will vote, one way or the other, depending on the prevailing wind of her donors.

Obama will just not show up and pretend to have a valid opinion after his non-vote, depending on which way Hillary votes.

I've never been so thoroughly disgusted with the two front runners in a political campaign, be they (D) or (R). Pretty sad situation when our own people won't take a stand on issues that affect us the most.

rights. Until the others say they'll do the same, I can't help but question why NOT?

22. Cheers to Dodd & Biden.
Shame on Hillary and Obama.

We have seen this before.
This is the same "Leadership" they showed last May during the Iraq Funding Bill.

"Bunker Boys" is a pejorative term used to describe the cowardly behavior of certain types, usually field officers, during Vietnam. These individuals would cower inside reinforced bunkers while the bullets were flying and the mortars were dropping. AFTER the action was over, they would make an appearance prancing around the battlefield pretending to be brave heroes, posing for the cameras, and recommending themselves for medals. The grunts in the holes knew them for what they were.

Dodd, Kerry, and Feingold STOOD UP and fought DURING the battle.

Clinton and Obama hid behind their SILENCE during the real fighting. Hillary actually RAN from the question at a press conference on Wednesday.
Clinton & Obama stood up ONLY AFTER the battle was over.
They will now parade around showing off their "NO votes like a badge of courage, and some of their campfollowers will applaud them. But the grunts in the holes know the truth.

Is this really the kind of "Leadership" America needs?

24. My appreciation to Dodd and Biden. As for those refusing to back this hold,...
,...where the are your allegiances, exactly? I don't care who you are, I expect an explanation.

This FISA situation is beyond the pale. Evidence of intentional violations of OUR constitutional protections is so repugnant that, any who waiver on taking a stand IN the Constitution appears weak or self-serving to me.
