CNN: Cannot do anything about fire till it reaches ocean or when winds die down Wednesday
They are interviewing a firefighter. Looks real bad.

1. I would think the wind is typically worse near the ocean.
That is a bad bad situation.

2. Actually, it's worse in the mountains and canyons
due in part to venturi effects.

Is that the official story, or is it the opinion of some "expert" they brought in to fill airtime?

not sure tho. he sure sounded tired and said he's never seen anything like this before.

5. I heard on a Portland station that Washington and Oregon have
quite a few engines and firefighters on there way down there. Those poor people are so overwhelmed. The National guard units are in Iraq for the most part so they cannot be used to help. I heard that on NPR earlier.

6. the national guard is over there while their homes
or the homes of their friends burn to the ground. they are over there because chimp was to much of a coward to reinstate the draft...get ready everyone west of the rockies winter is on it`s way...
