1. I heard Wednesday
Two fire-fighting units of National Guard are arriving at noon tomorrow per Duncan Hunter.

Better late than never....

2. Wednesday it is - then a low pressure develops for a week or so -
No rain unless an Alaskan storm manages to develop again, but at least it will cool down some. Expect another high pressure/high wind cycle around the end of November - it will be cooler, so probably no fires, but it will still be windy.

The wind just picked up again - looks to be gusting about 40 mph in the canyons off downtown after the almost dead calm earlier today. Our highest winds are supposed to be later tonight through tomorrow evening. Bad news...we'll just have to hunker down, like going through a hurricane.

4. I hate those winds. They're good for surfing, because they blow
in from the desert toward the ocean, and hollow out the waves. They're called off shore winds. They're also called devil winds when they start blowing like they have been. If it continues to blow this bad tomorrow, they'll be more hell to pay. I live in coastal San Diego, and am expecting several evacuees this evening. All the colleges and schools will be closed tomorrow because the air quality is so very bad.
