US Military recruitment advertisements before watching free cartoons on website
http://www.miniclip.com/toons/lochness-mess/en/

So I find out that my young relative, who was harmlessly playing games on the website 'miniclip', was subjected to Air Force recruitment advertising when she decided to watch one of the (Daffy Duck) cartoons they have loaded.

The commercial was the one about the guy saying this is his "porch", sitting on the loading ramp of a big Air Force plane while it's in the air and he's looking out across the ground beneath him. I clicked refresh after hearing it, and a different Air Force ad came up, the one talking about the best thing about the Air Force "is the brothers" in it.

How is this allowed? Advertising to children that they should join the military when they can, seems quite inappropriate. In the simplest way because being in the military typically involves warfare and violence and that shouldn't be pushed as something small children should be encouraged to be a part of. Even when being a soldier is considered noble in certain circumstances, it is an inappropriate form of advertising.

Am I being too easily offended? I just think, #1, it's a waste of taxpayer money, and #2, it's misguided to say the least.

2. correct, I do not
although I watch the clips on youtube. I cannot afford cable. So, it's there also? I had no idea, and am offended, but nothing more than as is the norm with these bastards in the White House. What a waste of taxpayer money (like any kid would want to join the military until shrub is out!)

5. Unfettered access to school children for the Army recruiters,
and a massive advertising budget. That's the only funding that the No Child Left Behind program ever got.
That's as Orwellian as it gets for me. :grr:
