As a soccer mom, I rarely get to use the words "punk ass"...
...but those words are spot on when it comes to Glen Beck, and his
commentary today about the California fires.

When I turned on my radio, he was making fun of the fact that the
fires were burning very-expensive homes in Malibu. Beck said
of these home owners, "Gee. I feel so bad for them. They'll
all have to run out on their verandas and catch their private
Lear jets to the nearest Four Seasons Hotel."

He seemed to insinuate that they would not be inconvenienced in
the least.

He also said (and this is a direct quote), "I think there is a handful
of people who hate America. Unfortunately for them, a lot of them are
losing their homes in a forest fire today."

Beck also mocked people who have homes on the shore of Malibu. He said
that they really aren't suffering--because even if their homes are on fire,
the winds from the ocean will blow the smoke backward--and they will still
have great views of the ocean--as their houses burn to the ground.

I did say "punk ass" in the title of my thread, didn't I? Good.

I know it's hard to hear these things, but I think when petulant, dry-drunk
punk-ass bullies like Glen Beck make these sort of comments--people need
to hear it. We should not ignore this vitriolic brand of air-wave cancer
that disseminates hatred and mocks people who are dealing with a life-threatening
disaster.

Furthermore, it's also revealing to see how the "Christian right" behaves in times of
crisis and personal tragedy.

4. I couldn't believe what I was hearing...
I mean...are we supposed to feel hatred for people who lose their
homes in forest fires--because they're rich or because they're actors?

I don't get this. I would feel bad for anyone dealing with this. Automatically.
I don't care if it's Jennifer Anniston's house or Joe Blow's house. I automatically
feel compassion for these people.

Michael Savage lives in California. He's a rabid, right-wing radio personality. If
I heard that his house burnt down, I would feel bad and I'd want to help.

What in the hell is wrong with emotional mutants like Beck? They
have the airwaves for dozens of hours a week, and they spread their noxious
stank into the brains of Americans. It's rotting this country. It's creating
such hate and a major fracture in our nation.

It's like they're trying to catalyze a "Crypts" and "Bloods" scenario on
a national level. It's just so childish and absolutely revolting. These
people are such classless punks, yet they are paid millions to inject our
nation with this poison.

Evil. Pure evil.

5. Far out.
The mere thought of soccer moms using words like that makes me moist.

I think it's the accuracy of the turn of phrase. ;-)

7. You are soooo wrong!!! He's a good christian because he
1) thinks homosexuals are taking over our schools
2) thinks no girl should have a choice (or probably a vote)
and
3) knows that anglo-saxon Jesus is going to take all good right wingers home with him soon.

These are the only prerequisites to be a good LimpHannCoultalkin christian.

;-)
