But we can't drop food or water over New Orleans for 4-5 days and we can't put out some fires in our backyard.

Are our priorities a bit screwed up?

1. 1,000 sorties a day does sound like a lot - maybe if we dropped that to 500
it would free up some capability to take care of our own?

Anyway Glenn Beck said those people losing their homes in California hate America and aren't Real Democrats. Of course in his mind the number of real Democrats has dropped to one - Joe Lieberman.

2. There's no money to be made helping people out
But every bomb dropped by the US military is like money in the bank to our corporate overlords.

4. A bit?
Our priorities are enormously screwed up.

What happened in New Orleans was complete and callous disregard for human life by the Bush Administration.

What is happening in Iraq is complete and callous disregard for human life by the Bush Administration.

At least the bastard is consistent.
