Is this religious organization making money off the mission trips?

I’m going on a mission trip to a Central American country soon. The cost of the trip is about $1600. The team will leave on a Saturday morning and return home the following Saturday evening. A round-trip airplane ticket from my city would be $663.

So that leaves--because airline fares from other cities might be higher—let’s say $800 to cover food and lodging at the compound.

The food is nutritious but not gourmet food. The lodging is, shall we say, rustic (bunk beds).

Seems to me this organization is making tons of money off of the deal. Now, it may be that every dollar they get is being put to good use helping the citizens of this country. But I can’t help but wonder. They have mission teams going and coming all the time.

Any thoughts?
