Bush: "Those who oppose this vital tool in the war on terror need to answer a simple question"

http://blogs.usatoday.com/ondeadline/2007/10/bush-to-speak-2.html

Bush presses critics: Which terror attack would you prefer we hadn't stopped?

<snip>

Despite the record of success, and despite the fact that our professionals use lawful techniques, the CIA program has come under renewed criticism in recent weeks. Those who oppose this vital tool in the war on terror need to answer a simple question: Which of the attacks I have just described would they prefer we had not stopped? Without this program, our intelligence community believes that al-Qaeda and its allies would have succeeded in launching another attack against the American homeland. This CIA program has saved lives -- it is vital to the security of the American people.

2. I'm so sick of hearing that pathetic line "War on Terror"... It's a cop out....
that this useless POS and his cronies always seem to come up with. The war on terror should be directed at the White House where the real terrorists are hanging out.

4. Well, I'd wish you had stopped the attack on 9/11/01
You knew your pals' commandos were in the country...you knew something was up. Why didn't you stop that one? Care to explain?

6. Americans do not deserve to have their freedom from intrusion terrorized by their government.

I'm tired of having my Constitutional protections and freedoms attacked by YOU, George!!!

YOU have, apparently, allowed the terrorists to determine my way of life by taking from me what NO ONE, not even you, was suppose to ever usurp.

This "pressed critic" responds, "you can go straight to hell" with your "tools" for YOUR terror war!!!

'kay? :grr:

7. Bush IS An Idiot
My favorite: "10 interceptor missiles in Poland. "It doesn't take a rocket scientist to do the math," Bush said."

The only thing that they'll need with this plan is for an Iranian agreement to shoot their missiles on a lop-sided course into EUrope, though Poland so that we may shoot them down.

This has nothing to do with Iran, it's clearly the beginning of a new Cold War with Russia.

8. The Clinton Admin was able to stop several potential attacks WITHOUT shedding the Constitution.
As always, Republicans try to distract by asking the wrong question. Which rights & freedoms are you willing to give up? Or, to be more blunt - Will you submit to a body cavity search every time you want to get on an airplane?

9. Were any of these attacks stopped because of any Bush policy?
Wasn't London normal police work (and I guess he didn't mention the previous successful attacks), and is he talking about the Ca. airports attacks? They had no real plan and the Bush programs had nothing to do with that. Am I wrong? And Karachi? What was that? If Bush wants an answer anyway, I'll take the Karachi attack because 1. I don't know what he is talking about and 2. Lynn Cheney says anything outside our country is not of US interests.

11. ...

:banghead: He never fails to pat himself on the back for all his "supposed" successes, while expecting us too overlook his massive failures, such as NOT PREVENTING THE ATTACKS ON SEPT 11TH, NEVER MIND THAT HIS ADMINISTRATION HAD OPPORTUNITY TOO DO SO!
