How many generations will pass before America is reborn?

Will some child say his grandfather's father lived in old America where they chose their own leaders and everyone could speak their mind without fear? It seems we're on a snot covered slope leading to fascists corptacracy we may have already lived through the last days of what used to be the United States of America. Our elected officials don't listen to us, ignore us with impunity, laugh at our puny efforts to hold them accountable.

Nothing lasts forever, we've had an amazing run of 231 years, hitler's thousand year reich lasted what 12 or so. These people won't be on top forever, things change, hopefully it won't take four or five generations before people want to be free again.

... a loose collection of independent countries. Some will do better than others. Some will become oppressive theocracies a remain stuck in the dark ages, while others will become open and progressive.
