Some folks can go home

NEW: SOME RESIDENTS CAN RETURN HOME
According to Mayor Jerry Sanders, some residents are allowed to return home to areas evacuated because of the Witch Fire. Those areas include:

Del Mar Heights: South of Via de la Valle, west of Interstate 5 and north of Torrey Pines State Beach

3. Good news for those people
I am happy for them, as we should all be. Let's hope they can stay at home for a long time.

4. That's great. However....
"Hwy 76 corridor reverse 9-1-1 in effect with 2 fires converging.. really bad.. get out!"

<http://twitter.com/nateritter>

Does anyone know which fires that would be?

6. Having been to dances like this in the past
we are going to have rolling evacs, and returns... as the fire moves in an out

Trust me, been to this dance as a fire rescue member, I don't envy the fire personnel on the line either

This is going to be bad for this county

14. I don't ever envy fire personnel.
But I honor them.

We had a small problem where I live a few months after 9/11. I remember peeking out my door to see these men dressed in their bumblebee gear and the thought jumped into my head, "What are giants doing in my building?"

5. Thanks for the info and link, Nadin.

I bookmarked it so I can check to see if my brother's
apartment is still there.

So far , I don't see it listed as destroyed.

He's staying with our mom, and she doesn't have internet access.

I bet they are nervous, too.
Kids have different ways of showing that.

Hang in there, hopefully we will get some
good news.

9. I hope they can tonight,
they may... and trust me, I am hoping for it, for their sake and mine

:-)

And if they leave tonight, tomorrow off to the Q with me... to volunteer

I have experience in this but I am here taking care of my own skin first

:-)
