Edited on Tue Oct-23-07 03:39 PM by brentspeak
I would suggest to the constant complainers that they call, write, or visit the Democratic leaders who they're upset with, and let them know how you feel. Constantly complaining to DUers here is simply a drag to everyone.

And no, just because Poster X may say, "But I DO call my congressman, so there!" does not cover your own lack of constructive effort.

In short: Be constructive and pro-active, or otherwise give it a rest.

2. Yeah, we should strive to be like the Republicans, and say "YES" no matter how vile!
Oh, wait...we're doing that now. Only we're saying YES to what the Republicans want, and NO to what the people want.

8. OH GOD!! NO, that is not what they meant, you damn drama...person (see? I am a progressive after all
Try, just TRY to grasp that there is a difference between marching in lockstep and occasionally squelching the desire to BITCH BITCH BITCH about everything! Isn't being a constant complainer the same thing as being a constant back-patter? Either way, you aren't evaluating each person and each situation on its merits. If there is NOBODY in the Democratic party you can say something good about, then HEY, you might be in the wrong place! You might want to try visiting the Whining Malcontent Underground.

3. Maybe cause they are discontent?
It should always be OK to call bullshit when you see it. I see calling bullshit as the ultimate pro-active thing to do. It often takes great bravery to see beyond your affiliated group and find the truth then point it out.

Some people are clutching their right to be miserable and disaffected to their chest like an only child.

Hey, good for them!! A total inability to find anything good to say about anything is so forward thinking!!

12. If all someone does is stiffle other people's grievances and issues
then they're just demanding conformity, almost certainly for the sake of arbitrary power.

If you don't allow people to complain when there are issues to complain about then you're demanding a part that will only act for the core people at the top. Nobody else will ever be heard.

21. .
Constructive criticism of Democrats or the Democratic Party is permitted. When doing so, please keep in mind that most of our members come to this website in order to get a break from the constant attacks in the media against our candidates and our values. Highly inflammatory or divisive attacks that echo the tone or substance of our political opponents are not welcome here.

22. Spreading discontent serves a purpose. It pushes others to get involved
Setting up threads saying how wonderful a job the Democrats are doing just encourages people to sit back and say "good, I need to do nothing".

23. Tell it to the Pink Ladies...
The Pink Ladies have tried to "converse" with Madame Speaker and ended up being compared to the homeless people in San Francisco whom Madame Speaker apparently believes should be arrested and thrown in jail. Out of sight, out of mind.

That is the Republican approach to problems. Ignore the problems and the people with the problems. And if ignoring them doesn't work, arrest them and have them thrown into jail.

That is not democracy. And quite honestly, I have to wonder if Nancy Pelosi is really a Democrat. She seems more a Republican at times. Especially when she's sitting in Bush's lap waiting for her doggie treat.

They weren't polite when they threw the tea in Boston Harbor. Patriots rarely are.
