Away from Hardball or DU I haven't heard one single person ever say that. Not one time.

Hardball and DU is it.

Interesting.

1. And Rahm totally denies that's where the interest lies. I know plenty
of people who want this war over. Prolly the majority of people who voted for Dems last year want that.

5. No that isn't what Rahm said
Rahm said the Iraq war is one of many issues important to Dems.

And that pretty much explains how this Dem feels.

7. They have their marching orders to change the topic.
I recognize they've tried to get a lot done; I also recognize they've blown opportunities where this war is concerned. And that's this Dem's opinion.

“We’re concerned obviously that the accomplishments of both the House and Senate are overshadowed by failure to change direction in Iraq,” said Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.). “We’re hoping in the next three or four months to make it clear what has been done and make it clear we are upset that more has not been accomplished because of the president’s refusal to change direction.”

9. Change the topic? How much news coverage have you seen from Iraq lately?
Not much, right?

The media has their marching orders. At the rate they we going next year this time Iraq will be the war no one talks about any more and most people will just assume that we have won.

Watch and see.

2. I've heard the local RW a-hole on the Clear Channel station say
"Well, why don't the dems just cut the funding?" knowing full well that he would have a smirk which would come straight through the radio if they did, saying "The Dems are trying to kill the troops by taking away the funding!"

damned if we do ...

3. fund a withdrawal while refusing to consider the president's request
and defuse that argument.

the reason matthews hears that is that 75% of americans want it done.

6. Can you imagine the hue and cry...
If the Dems focused only on the war and let everything else slide?

Don't get me wrong: My distaste for Rahm Emanuel runs like "I wish he would go swimming in the Amazon and a whole school of those parasitic fish swims up his penis and anchors themselves there with their very sharp and painful spines".

On the other hand, the fit pitching over this statement strikes me as a bit tedious.
