4. And to you as well.
It's been an intense news day and I decided I needed to end it with some soothing music and light reading before bed. Yet, here I am, still glued to DU!

5. ya- i know - words only have meaning
that the decider decides they have.

The last line
was a zinger.

It is times like these when our most 'sacred' vows are either honored or tossed.

Peace~

6. There was a sub-plot in last week's episode
that dealt with the War On Terror as well.

I'm glad they're doing this. The final scene, where the ME told the doc who formulated torture techniques that 'You can't take a time-out from your oath because we're at war' really hit home.

SVU is raising these issues in a way that hopefully make people think about them more.

9. I'm glad that some network
shows are picking up where the news has failed us all.

That last line was great-

11. Dick Wolf is a smart man.
But I'm really happy that they're not using the phrase 'ripped from the headlines' any more. that got annoying after a while. :)

7. "The oath was written for times like these."
This should be enscribed on a plaque attached to every congresscritter's desk ... and carried by every member of the military and every person in public service.

When we take an oath to "protect and defend the Constitution," it's no for the times it's easy or politically convenient or footnoted with exceptions. It's an oath that becomes even more prescriptive when the going gets tough.

That oath was written for times like these! :grr:

13. You can watch it online at the PBS website. I like Law and Order, too, btw.
And I appreciate the way their writers work in these kinds of themes into their scripts. Thank you for posting about it.

Peace to you as well,
sw
