There is maybe 48 hours to a settlement in Turkey.
Now they (the TUrks) already laid down impossible terms. So lets assume they are not/cannot be met.

They will need probably 48 hours to get in line and move south - something like that.

The problem is - they have no intelligence cause we won't give it to them. So there is about to be launched a blunt instrument going into a (required) surgical attack. Ain't gonna work. Probably about 48 hours after the no response that will come out of Iraq.

While I am quite convinced that B*sh is an idiot - I know the army is not so dumb. I know they are trying to stop this. I have hopes they will do this.

I am certain the first perceivable move will be a move of American tech weapons out from the Turkish capital - I look for that alone. That will be bad.

If they move - the Turks will have to cut the air space as well as any supplies on the ground from moving south - they have to.

If this happens - the Kurds will be attacked from the south - count on it.

If this happens, it will be the opening battle of something greater than regional conflict. They know it. This cannot be allowed to happen.

If anyone here sees movement out of the capital there by American assets- you need to post it. That will be the last chance to stop this.

Joe

there is tension on the Iraq / Turkish border. The fact remains that you have been calling the Turkish attack on northern Iraq for the last year and ALWAYS within a very short time frame.

8. No -96 - 48 and 48
We have been to the brink a few times - and each time we somehow convinced Turkey we would handle it. I don't think they believe us anymore.

I am assuming that they don't believe us or can't hold their population in check over this or both.

They let go their fighter bombers last night over there. I think they are there to clear a path - a forward artillery platform, if you will. And they won't be dropping little artillery shells.

If they do invade, the kurds will side with the radicals- an invading army really links a population together like nothing else can.

The United States better stop this, make a deal - convince them not to do this thing. And the clock is running fast here.
