Hey Anderson Cooper, how would a magician have made it to the Superdome?
Cooper, like the rest of the MSM dunces, keeps touting the wonderful "organization" of San Diego's Qualcomm center compared to the Superdome. Example: "There were magicians here" to entertain the kids. He seems to have forgotten that New Orleans was a city entirely isolated, with all infrastructure and communications disabled. Should some Cajuns have poled some magicians in on their pirogues?

Cooper's right that there is "no comparison" between Katrina and the situation in San Diego--but that's not because of a "better response" based on "lessons learned"...It's because Katrina was an incomparably more difficult disaster.

13. No action for how many days? Boats waiting offshore not getting the go-ahead?

16. For crying out loud
I didn't know there was a freakin' competition: "My disaster was worse than yours, nya-nya-nya!"

Every disaster has its own unique set of circumstances. Can't we at least let the flames go out before we start comparing disasters? :eyes:

17. you're missing the point.....Cooper, et al, are acting like the circumstances are not....
unique, and that comparisons CAN be drawn between this and Katrina. If you saw his report at Qualcomm you'd know what I mean.

12. Me too. Remember him trying to pour wine without spilling?
That's the part I remember because it was a drinking game, and he obviously got a wee bit sloshed.

I wanted to go on that show, darn it! Smart car!

14. An apt comparison.
I just roll my eyes at some of the things he says. He is about as out of touch with middle class America as Oprah.

4. It's as if the whole city of San Diego was on fire.
Jesus, if you were in San Diego right now you would be wondering what all the fuss was about. The only ones comparing this thing to NO would be those who would want to forget just how badly those people were treated.

7. Homeland Security wouldn't let emergency helpers get in without their security clearance
in NO. Stories abound and make me so mad about people trying to help but were turned away because Homeland Security had taken over the security mission and it wasn't a rescue mission it was about securing the city and its wealth. "George bush doesn't care about Black People."

8. The "response" was hardly acceptable
Was it? When reporters could get in and out of there and interview people who were pleading for water and afraid their babies would die?

Yes, it was a greater disaster. But that is no excuse for the total lack of response.

If Qualcomm were surrounded by a wall of fire, would the masseuses have made it there?
