black people or women? Does any poll matter if there's that preconception? I know it's an issue.

3. I'm not fond of three legged green women with beards
and antenna.

I can't help it. My early socialization suggested that they were all out to destroy the human race.

5. Individuals, or as a rule?
I don't ignore the differences between myself and other people (I happen to be a white male), but I don't dislike anyone based solely on their race or gender. That said, there are people I don't like who fall into one of those categories (Condoleezza Rice happens to fall into both).

11. He is watching, ever watching
despite the fact that he has a ton of work to get done tomorrow. Still he watches.

7. If you are asking
how many people out there are closet racists or sexists who would never vote for a person of color or a woman but who would never admit it, and certainly not to a pollster, I think it has to be a concern, even if we wish it were not. If you are asking something else, I have no idea.

9. WHICH black people? WHICH women?
A couple of black people I used to work with were real jerks, I don't like them. If they're still around. I haven't tried to keep track, or anything. And this one client I had a few years ago, a woman, was a menace to civilized life on earth; I DEFINITELY don't like her.

Could you be more specific?

bewilderedly,
Bright

14. Yes, that's the point. There are people who have notions, even on DU,
that blacks and/or women would never work. On both accounts, they are wrong. But the rest of the country weighs in, and think about it.

20. Some of them come VERY close to admitting it, from time to time.
Check out some of the "illegal immigration" threads sometime:
we've got longtime DUers whose "opinions" of Mexican people
would be right at home on a NeoNazi White-Supremecist site.

It's my experience that folks who disseminate racist nonsense
about brown folks are seldom very open minded to BLACK folks.

It's just that anti-African racism is a big no-no these days;
whereas the "illegal immigration issue" still provides a nice,
explainable cover for racist shitheads to justify their childish,
fearful, hate-based brown-bashing "opinions", knowhutImean?

And once you find racism, the rest is close by.
RACISM is a CRAVEN, COWARDLY thing; never brave enough to wander
very far from its fraternal twin, "MISOGYNY".

13. Hey, throw in Jews, gays, Catholics, Fundamentalists, Muslims,
Jehovah's Witnesses, Republicans, and a few other categories of your choosing, and you've got yourself a poll, there....be sure to include either an OTHER (explain) or a NONE OF THE ABOVE/FILL IN THE BLANK for those who don't care for your selections.

Who don't you like the MOST? Pick one....

I'm guessing NONE, or maybe REPUBLICANS, will win, but what do I know?

16. There's is something else to keep in mind....
Who is shaping these thoughts in Americans minds? Faux news....the talk shows...the misleading polls?

All of these sources lead Americans to think that a Black man or a woman cannot lead this country.

In order to break up this misinformation...all Mega Media corporations must be broken up to allow different view points.

(Don't get me wrong there are truely people out there that don't like Blacks or women). But many Americans viewpoints are shaped by the Media these days.

19. Well, it's long past time we had a woman president, or a black one.
Our available choices may not be ideal, but I would vote for either should they be the nominee.

Of course, I wouldn't consider any of the loser white bread idiots the Repubs dredged up.
