Bush/Cheney can literally do anything they want to. Who's to stop them?
Can they nuke Iran or North Korea? Who's to stop them?

Can they give Halliburton and others more no-bid contracts? Who's to stop them?

They want to set up new torture chambers? Who's to stop them?

They want to sign more "findings" to ignore American laws? Who's to stop them?

They want to refuse to turn any and all documents over to congress? Who's to stop them?

They want to go on wrecking Medicare and Medicaid? Who's to stop them?

They want to go on cutting veterans benefits? Who's to stop them?

Well, you get the idea. So what the hell did our winning the House and Senate in Nov. mean? Not much. The House has a big enough majority to pass what's necessary. But we hold the Senate by just one seat (if you want to count Lieberman).

How about "We The People?" Can we stop them? I doubt it. (Think Kent State.)

The bottom line is I'm damned if I know how to stop these madmen. Any (realistic) suggestions?

1. Looks like the power of the executive branch should come under review........
specially when a bunch of psychopaths are the top executives.

2. It's not quite as bad as that. Remember the moves to destroy
Social Security? And don't forget the change in the congress. Iraq will go down in history as an aberration allowed by the social trauma caused by 9/11. Most everything bush has done will be the subject of regret & correction for years to come.

4. Most Republicans didn't want to touch the third rail of social security.
And I agree about these people being an abberation and the subject of regret in years to come. In the meantime, these maniacs are still in office and will be for almost two more years.

5. cheney has us in check
time is running out and he is poised to make his move. He acts like the king and nobody has paid any attention for so long. I hope it is not too late. Like Bob Marley says, "Time will tell. Is this Heaven or are you living in Hell? Time will Tell..."

8. Right now it appears he can't be stopped
Not the way even this congress three day ramble on a none binding resolution drags on .

Cheney will not be under oath to testify at the Libby trial and seems to be working in the shaddows as usual .

Time is running out and I really wonder if the house even takes this serious or plan on dragging their feet as an intent to avoid stopping what they may not be able to stop .

It all seems to be a political game rather than a life and death matter , at least to me it does .

9. I hope I'm not overstating the case here, but IMO, this administration presents

the most dangerous threat to our democracy, with the single exception of the Civil War.

11. The danger isn't limited to these madmen ...
... it'll be inherited by those who succeed them. All the power massing in the Administrative branch? No president, Dem. or Rep., will relinquish that voluntarily.

So we're stuck with an imbalance of power.

Bad news.

13. We The People Must Demand
an equalzation of power! The federalist system of checks and balances is the most effective system for its purpose. Bush is just trying to f8ck it up and Cheney is his evil puppet master who conceived these delusions of grandeur over 30 years ago and has now seemingly realized his desired policy objectives that led many to refer to the Vulcans as 'the crazies' for so long. With these crazies in power, we are f8cked! Throw your body upon their dirty greed machine and say 'It will not function until WE ARE FREE!'

No more Fascism!

12. Our newly elected congress isn't doing squat.
Even if they know they will get voted down, they need to be introducing (BINDING!) legislation that will stop these fuckers. Non-binding is crap. Bi-partisan is crap. Stand up for what you said you believed. Too afraid of the bullies? Then resign. Let someone else do the heavy lifting. But it needs to be done. NOW.
