She was interviewing California Lt Governor John Garamendi. He once again made his statements about the war, Bush, and the lack of his National Guard.

Minutes before the interview, MSNBC had a story that the Pentagon brain trust said there is no shortage of Guard in California.

Brewer was completely off base in her tone in asking Garamendi if he was using the fires as an excuse to make statements against 'President Bush'.

Oh.My.Gawd. She like sounded like such a total like bitch? She was all like pissy and copped a 'tude?

.... he said all she had to do was come to California to see how stretched the Guard was. He pretty much ignored the 'President Bush' bait, instead referring to how he would be treated politely, but that at the end of it all, he would wait to see if promises made become promises kept - unlike NYC (9/11) and NO (Katrina). He was VERY unapologetic.

We almost never watch the local Milwaukee news because it's not worth the time, but I'd heard of her before she jumped to the national. Our resident journalism professor and media critic, Dave Berkman, used to go after her in his column in the alternative paper. His take was much like yours, but he used different colorful metaphors.
