MSNBC puts a political spin on California fire coverage
TV Newser: Covering the Fires: Evening Notes

MSNBC is putting a political spin on their coverage of the fires. Tonight on Hardball with Chris Matthews, California's Lt. Gov. John Garamendi said he's "got some doubt about the value of President Bush coming out here" and "I just hope if he does come, he brings more than he brought to New Orleans." The comments were then repeated and discussed on Countdown with Keith Olbermann and on Live with Dan Abrams.

a kind of reverse psychology..I was hoping he was Dem. I just didn't know before that swartz had Dem Lt Gov..Good..it's not all bad.

I love California..my daughter was born there in my 15 years in San Diego.

I'm glad he said that..it's tellin' it like it is..I'm so tired of us being the ONLY PCers around. NO PC for the repukes ..they can tell LIES up the YIN YANG but us..telling the TRUTH? Forgiddabouit.

Edited on Wed Oct-24-07 12:12 PM by chimpsrsmarter
hated him---why? Well he had the nerve to want our insurance rates to based on our driving records instead by where we live, can you imagine? :sarcasm: Anyhow insurance companies spend millions on ads attacking him.

And really I was hoping we could not step in it AGAIN and look like fools. Too late. more apologies coming. Every one is CA is thinking the same thing, not really something that needed to be said.

10. I'm one native Californian who totally agrees with our Lt. Gov
in fact I hope other dems say similar things. I also don't think any dem should ever apologize for any critical statement to rethugs.

21. It's the game..... not the statement....
Again ti comes off as a shrill bunch of dems.

And that is how it will play out.

Don't give them feed for the fire you know.

The dems never win these battles and that is how the right wing has managed to manipulate thought.

I am from CA iand agree totally. I hope there are signs in back of Bush saying "Don't katrina Us george" and "where are the national Guard".

gonna give up on winning it..the pukefreaks have the corporatemediawhores in their bed so it makes it harder but.. hey! They can take their "shrill" and Bring It On.

7. MSNBC
is political spin and hardball is nothing but political spin. Surprise, surprise!

I just loved the way, when KO asked about the bushtrain's arrival, it looked like the lt governor turned to his right and spat before replying. Maybe it was my imagination, but I watched the show twice to make sure I wasn't mistaken.

9. Didn't see it
but when I heard that the blivet was coming to see our fair city, my first thought was: Shit, now he is going to pull VALUABLE manpower off of working the fires, evacuation centers, and police patrols, to get a "photo op" in a desperate attempt to pull his 24% approval rating up. I wonder how many more houses will burn to the ground for his attempt to remain relevant? SICK BASTARD!

17. How are you all doing out
there by now? I don't know where you are in San Diego but I lived there for 15 years..all over the place and still have family and friends going through these Fires from hell.

I'm glad what Lt Gov John Garamendi said about the bushit coming to your city and I wish bushit could get booed off the photo-op stage because that doesn't even begin to cover what he deserves.

18. I'm doing fine, and THANK YOU for your concern.
I live in Hillcrest, close to the ocean and downtown. I have not been personally affected except for air quality & falling ash. My place of work was closed on Tuesday because of an evacuation order. None of the rest of my family have been evacuated, but several have homes in area that might have been evacuated (and may still). No one I know personally has lost their home.

I'm amazed at how this town has come together and stepped up to help in any way they can. Example: Qualcom stadium put out a call for supplies (water, bedding, etc.) because they didn't have enough. They were inundated in no time and had to start turning away donations. Lines for people volunteering were huge! I think they even had to turn some of them away too.

19. I love Hillcrest..all the little shops and
health food stores and that was back in the '80's..I can imagine how much more there is now.

Glad ya'll are okay..when I called my sis last night in Chula Vista she said.."The good news was that people had responded so generously that they had to start turning down donations"!

It's so Unreal!
