Holy crap, preacher owns his own 747.
This is un fucking believable. It belongs to Pastor Earnest Angley, who operates his self-named Ministry in Smyrna, Tennessee. He must be siphoning money off his congregation left and right.

Check out the pictures of said plane:

And yet there are some people who believe that churches should get tax exempt status.

1. I wonder if the faith based initiative paid for the plane.

3. Yeah, really. Wasn't there a verse in the New Testament about false prophets?
Or false PROFITS in this case?

Upon further checking, I found this guy runs an infomercial 'round the clock in the greater Nashville area.

12. Yeah, there was and even I know
that(don't read "The Good Book") ..that was a very savvy prediction, though, cause the world is full of 'em and has, no doubt, been since the beginning of the whole shebang.

4. It appears a vow of poverty is not on Brother Earnest's radar.

5. Where does this preacher travel to that he needs a 747?
I don't think Jesus would like that.

7. I don't get it either.
Even Iron Maiden, one of the biggest bands in the world, is CHARTERING their own 757 for their next tour, and it's big enough to hold the band, the crew, and all the necessary equipment.

Now why Maiden can charter a 757, and this pastor feels the need to own his own private jumbo fuck jet, it's mind boggling.

10. Rock groups don't have the same tax writeoffs a televangelist has

And if you ask him he'll probably tell you he's 'just a poor ol' country preacher'.

14. Yup.
And the fact that a preacher can own his own 747 and pay no taxes on it, well, that's a perfect example of why I'm against churches having tax exempt status.

9. Ernest has been a charlatan for decades
He plays the role of a healing preacher who can heal by laying hands on people and screaming "BE HEALED!" Then they fall down in a heap convulsing. Pretty dramatic. Then ol' Ernest kicks their crutches away and they crawl off the stage while he laughs and says, "See what God can do?"

Pretty fucked up. I don't doubt he has his own plane. He's in it for the cash.

11. Maybe he doesn't trust the Rapture Transport System? God helps those who help themselves ...
... to other people's money?

The Pastor apparently intends to Rapture in style. :puke:

15. If he is flying in that thing he needs a wing & a prayer!!!
I worked at the Boeing plant in Everett where they built those things...

A 747SP was one of the WORST planes Boeing ever built. I am suprised that any of them are still flying...

The SP version was a shortened version of the standard 747; which is a good plane. The SP was sold mostly overseas for short haul runs. Boeing stopped producing them years ago.....

the preacher probably picked up at a bankruptcy sale; if so I would really question it's safety....
