Google Is Watching
If you do a search and go to a site, then google it later to go back. It tells you how many times you've gone to the site and the time of your last visit. Did not know this.

2. Google is watching so much more than that!!!

Have you tried google mail, where it reads your mails and gives you ads which are about your emails, or seen the way google advertizing, like on this site, refers to topics discussed on the site? Google is recording everything online.

7. I hate to tell you, but that is the new marketing craze.
I'm in he heart of Silicon Valley and this is not new, but is gaining ground like crazy.... many companies sharing info to create specific marketing.... think 'Minority Report' minus 10-15 years.

12. Nice to hear that from the horse's mouth, I've had my suspicions for awhile...
It was the way "corporate intelligence" became this big thing after 9/11, and the eSurance ads with the spies reflecting that part of the culture. I think its pervasive, and I'm not even talking about companies like Seisint.

3. Google is paying too. Every month a nice check.
Why do they have such high ad revenue? Because they are targeting, which requires market research.

Hopefully, Google is watching BUSH and the whole junta. Do they have a cache of White House activity?

9. Never thought of that. Kind of cool.
They could never get me to download their retribution, and even if they did, I'm on dial-up.

Have you noticed how many more hits you get for the phrase "Reichstag Fire" than you did a few years ago?

More people are figuring it out.

BTW, it was on one of my Google searchs for "Reichstag Fire" that I found Democratic Underground.
