NICEVILLE — A Florala, Ala., man was stabbed Saturday night by a longtime enemy at the Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival.

James Suttles, 18, was stabbed once in the upper abdomen after he apparently followed 18-year-old Ryan McCurly, also from Florala, to his truck as McCurly tried to leave the festival, said Niceville police Lt. Randy Sallee.

The two men, who have a history of not getting along, ran into each other at the festival and started “squabbling,” Sallee said. Both were separated, issued trespass warnings and escorted to different gates.

McCurly had parked his pickup along State Road 85 north of the festival grounds. Suttles followed McCurly to his truck, where McCurly stabbed Suttles with a pocket knife in apparent self-defense, Sallee said.

Seriously though, thanks for the clarification.

11. Anything called a "festival" in the Southeastern US can be a lot of fun
I particularly enjoyed attending the South Carolina Crawfish Festival when I was being shadowed by a private investigator.

I was relieved to learn they were talking about Racoons, and not using a racial epithet.

17. Thank you for your delightful illustration of the correct use of the Straw Man fallacy.
Nobody's ever suggested that, because it's obviously false. Now drag your knuckles on back to the gungeon before you hurt yourself.

18. Not to be confused with the Flora-Bama Lounge's annual Mullet Toss.
WHAT IS A MULLET TOSS?
A Mullet Toss consists of individuals on the beach throwing a mullet,
from a 10-foot circle in Alabama across the state line into Florida.
Not to mention a great excuse to throw a weekend long party,
with lots of fun activities, great music and food!
This year's event will feature local celebrities tossing out a few fish
at Noon, Saturday April 28th.

A mullet is one of the more popular and plentiful fish indigenous to this area. It is the only fish with a gizzard and is said to possess mystical properties.

The FloraBama Lounge is on the beach, on the Florida-Alabama state line, between Pensacola, Fl., and Orange Beach, Al.

21. The Mullet Festival
is usually a pretty darned good time.

It was originated, I think, by the proprietor(s) of the FloraBama Lounge, situated right on the FloraBama line, with part of the bar in FL and the other in Bama. I've had some great nights in that little ramshackle juke joint.
